PORTLAND, MAINE (December 19,2022) – An anonymous donor of The Iris Network, along with our long-time partner The Gibney Family Foundation sent over $10,000 in financial support along with Learning Sight & Sound, Adaptivision, and New England Low Vision sending over $15,000 in assistive technology to Poland, to help Ukrainian refugees with vision impairment.
The Iris Network staff reached out and with our partners were able to gather the resources to provide much-needed assistive technology and devices and financial support to help our friends from the Polish American Freedom Foundation to address the needs of refugees who fled Ukraine.
Items sent included hand-held and desktop magnifiers, video magnifiers, desk and travel lamps, and other devices to help with their transition in Poland.
“The generosity and outpouring of aids and devices for those with vision loss in Ukraine was nothing short of overwhelming. A huge thank you to those who contributed.”
~ Amber White, Low Vision Center Coordinator
