HOLMAN PRIZE APPLICATION
Information Session
DEADLINE: March 14

 What is the Holman Prize?
The LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired in San Francisco believes whole-heartedly in encouraging and nurturing the “can-do” attitude within the blind community. Reinforcing independence and confidence is our mission. In 2017, they launched the Holman Prize which awards three blue-sky thinkers who are blind or have low vision up to $25,000 to realize a big idea. It was named for James Holman, a prolific blind world traveler of the 19th century – Imagine how traveling independently back then must have been for a blind person. And that’s what the Holman Prize asks of you, to imagine, and dream big!

Are you thinking of submitting a Holman Prize entry but you’re not sure where to start? Are you wondering what makes a good 90-second Holman Prize YouTube video? Have you read through the Frequently Asked Questions but still have more? Come join two past Holman Prizewinners on Zoom to find out what they did to win their Holman Prize year. Come along and talk to the team about the ways in which LightHouse can help you make your ambition into a reality even during a pandemic. To RSVP and for Zoom meeting information, email holman@lighthouse-sf.org.

Don’t forget you have until 11:59 pm Pacific Time on March 14 to lodge an application.
