The Sight Tech Global conference is a gathering of major companies and researchers interested in access information (AI) technology. It was started by Ned Desmond, who was one of the people who started Tech Crunch. The second annual event will be held next week, December 1-2, 2021. The event is free and virtual (online). Nicholas Giudice, Ph.D., on the board of The Iris Network and a Founder & Chief Research Scientist of VEMI Labs at UMaine will be moderating a session on indoor navigation technology solutions, along with many other excellent sessions and presentations. The sessions with researchers and product leaders at Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Google, Amazon, APH, and Humanware (among others) will establish a new bar for understanding how fast AI-based accessibility tech is advancing. The agenda covers everything from advances in indoor navigation and autonomous vehicles to frontier tech like LiDAR and audio-based augmented reality (AR) – all from the standpoint of people who are blind or have low-vision.
