Inclusive Design Challenge from the U.S. Department of Transportation

Presentation on Autonomous Vehicle Accessibility

The Iris  Network is an advisor on an Inclusive Design Challenge (IDC) project. Members of the VEMI Lab’s Autonomous Vehicle Research Group including Nicholas Giudice, Ph.D. will be presenting some of the initial work on autonomous vehicle accessibility at the United States Department of Transportation this Monday, January 24th at 11:30am. The group will present on the Autonomous Vehicle Assistant (AVA) App, an accessible ride-hailing, mobility, and navigation tool for fully autonomous vehicles. VEMI will be joined by the nation’s top accessibility developers as they present progress towards a $1 million competition held later this year. They plan to work with The Iris Network on this project later in the Spring of 2022.
